Ted, Just Admit It...
I thought I'd switch gears real quick and upload what I feel is a rather important piece of out-of-print literature - the 1981 biography by Ted Bundy's ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer. Under the pseudonym Elizabeth Kendall (she was also known as Beth Archer or Meg Anders) she writes an absolutely compelling diatribe about living with someone who was at the time brutally murdering innocent women while appearing as an absolute snapshot of normalcy. He's as insecure and flawed as any of us - likes Mickey's malt liquor of all things! The book follows their relationship through the 1976 Utah trial for Carol DaRonch's attempted kidnapping and ends with some sporadic contact after his escape to Florida. Kloepfer is incredibly honest - her struggles with alcohol alone are almost worthy of a novel - much less living with a serial killer. Essential reading. I also included an audio recording of Ted Bundy's Fatal Addiction interview with evangelist James Dobson the day before his execution, January 23, 1989. Ted is annoyingly self-serving and indirectly absolves himself under the guise of blaming pornography and slasher movies for his actions. Yeah, I know he is scared of dying in 24 hours but have some self respect and take some ownership for shit's sake. There's a great moment where a phone rings in the background and he pauses. Nope, it's not the governor motherfucker, execution is still on schedule. He doesn't answer any specific murder questions - primarily 12-year old Kim Leach which is frustrating (he claims he "can't really talk about that right now") which would have satisfied the whole reason for the interview - instead he kind of tries to make it seem like the pain is a burden he's carrying. Fucked up shit. Enjoy.

Post D
It seems fitting that my 500th post would feature no other than GG Allin since I've blogged more about him than anyone else (Anal Cunt coming in a close second). For today's lesson we have a spirited interview conducted with the Geeg over WSIA 88.9 FM Radio in Staten Island, NY. While some have claimed this interview is from late '86 it was actually recorded in early summer 1988, right after the release of Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies. GG bitches about everything from Cosloy and Homestead, Black & Blue Records, the Great Kat, Stiv Bators and pretty much the everyone else in the punk scene in general. He is absolutely hilarious (slays poor Psycho drummer Charlie Infection - pictured above) and it is so refreshing to not hear him regress to the token "my audience is my enemy" routine from his later years. GG actually laughs at some jokes and at one point halts the interview to rub his dick all over the station microphone. My favorite part is hearing him talk about the recently recorded material (which would eventually become Suicide Sessions) and how that record was originally intended to be a "GG Allin & The Scumfucs" release. His promos tacked on at the end are a riot as well. Astute 'Genocide fans may remember this interview from one of the GG comps I posted a few years ago but this is an unedited crystal clear rip. Fucking awesome.

I Wish I Was Deaf
Easily the worst record ever recorded in the history of mankind, this white femenists rapping acapella turd is pretty much on rotation round the clock in GG or Seth Putnam's hell right now. Some readers will be familiar with quasi-listenable remixed version of "You Suck" by activist electro-rockers Consolidated in the early 90's - once you listen to the actual source material you will be fucking amazed that they could pull a remix off. The rhymes are so completely unfunny ("Talkin' Shit" is so fucking terrible it almost justifies jamming pencils into your ears) and if you search out a picture of what the Yeastie trio actually looked like it will make your skin crawl imagining these trolls actually getting some. In short, this record is so bad I basically just uploaded it for some mean-spirited shock value, I included Consolidated's remix just to make the whole listen barely worthwhile. I apologize in advance.

Yep, another GG Allin post.... (Part 2)
Wow, has it been that long since a good 'ol GG post? Sheesh, I need to get off my toilet and start kicking off this Memorial Day weekend with style! Thanks to a good buddy of mine overseas I recently received a cool 75 minutes of random GG Allin bullshit and interviews. The opener is easily the highlight: GG hanging in NYC with David Peel right after the Jabbers recorded their singles material ("No Rules," "You Hate Me & I Hate You," etc, etc) with Peel's Orange Records. Of course none of the Jabbers realized at the time that that stuff was going to slyly be released by GG as solo material but that's another story... Jump to nearly a decade later with two Halloween 1992 interviews while GG was finishing his time up in Jackson State Prison. By this time the full "GG Allin Mission" persona is in effect so you'll hear a lot of the same schtick and talking points that pepper most of Allin's publicity from that time. The KUCI interviewer seems a lot more serious (and more of a legit fan) then the clown from New York's Z-Rock; one can sense GG tiring of (and skipping) the same old questions in the latter conversation. And the ending is brutally cheesy... "GG Allin... Metallica... Am I Evil?" Puke. The disc wraps up with a tight interview from WMBR in Cambridge, MA where that night's gig was unexpectedly pulled out from under the Murder Junkies' feet. A recently freed and freshly angry Allin rants, raves and threatens the club owners (I believe this was to be the first gig in the infamous "Terror In America Tour") as well as promises the typical mayhem and destruction on what was to be his final tour. Can you believe we're at the 20-year anniversary this summer? Shit how time flies. Thanks again LJ. Enjoy.

Nihilistic Prose
By request here's an audio rip of the notorious $20.00 Poem video filmed by Malcolm Tent and starring poet Brian Douglas Clemens getting his ass kicked, spit, and pissed on by none other than GG Allin all while the public animal reads his eponymous poem. The sound quality is poor but passable, if anything it's a lot more palatable then actually having to watch the hijinks GG and Brian get into. Check out the whole story behind this masterpiece of DIY video here. As Malcolm put it... "I held the camera and asked the questions. I'm also the only one in this video who's still alive."

Yep, another GG Allin post....
Well, thanks to fellow GG fan of mine (and believe me, they're few and far between), I was lucky enough to get hooked up with a great CD of interviews, radio clips, and spoken word poetry (?) from the ol' scumfuc. Starting off the journey is a postmortem interview with Merle (maybe around '95?) talking about the then-current state of the Murder Junkies as well as some timeworn reminiscing about playing music with his brother. Merle is a surprisingly nice, chatty, no-nonsense guy who tells it like it is and his candid commentary about GG is really something to hear. Following that we have a radio interview with the Geeg on the day before his infamous spoken word performance at the Primal Plunge in Boston in May '89. As opposed to the angry, rambling, self-destructive drunk he is later in the night, GG comes across pretty coherently - even intelligently. Next is some random poetry, nothing most fans haven't heard before (maybe from the Occult Records 10" release in the mid 90's?) tailed by an interview with BBQ Joe Young from ANTiSEEN talking about GGs experience with the Morton Downey Jr. Show (as well as the show which would evetually become the Carolina In My Ass record). A radio show from Chicago detailing the Odd Rock Cafe clusterfuck is next. At times it becomes annoying simply because you're just listening to generic morning show guys banter (and when GG actually calls in he can't stop swearing so they cut him off the air) but it's interesting as a piece of nostalgia. They actually get GG in the studio later but once again the guy can't keep from dropping f-bombs so he's kept behind the window and interviewed remotely. Wrapping up the CD is a great phone conversation with (and taped by) Merle while GG sits in a hospital after getting blood poisoning from the Live And Pissed San Francisco gig. Really cool stuff to hear, all his posturing and public image goes out the window - it's just two brothers shooting the shit. Easily the highlight. Wrapping it all up is another radio interview, this time with a Staten Island station. Most of the conversation focuses on GG's contract with Homestead Records (it seems to have been recorded right around when Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies came out) and it rambles a bit but is still very listenable. All in all, a great snapshot into the life of the struggling scumfuc during the late 80's. Thanks LJ. Enjoy.

Allin Anecdotes
The one or two people who read this blog may remember my mention of legendary Connecticut record label TPOS and their affable owner Malcolm Tent. One of the few underground punk New Englandahs back in the 80's that willingly distributed GG Allin's über-rare shit, Malcolm got together with Swedish Scum Records in 2000 to document his dealings with GG and fellow punk poet Brian Douglas Clemons. For those who don't know, Malcolm was the gutsy soul who filmed the infamous 20$ Poem video featuring a young GG beating the shit out of Brian in the freezing upstate snow while the young scribe recites his strangely beatnik nihilism. The blood, urine and spit flow freely yet the drunken arm-in-arm hanging-out afterward session is the real hoot. Malcolm humorously reminisces about filming the whole thing from a safe distance and letting the "artists" drive the boat. He also shares some commentary on GG's stomp up to TPOS's hometown of Danbury, CT a year later as well as his take on Allin's cancelled 1991 NYU spoken word gig. Finally, there's a couple bootlegged (?) bonus tunes: "Dead Flowers" from the live Inside Outside 7" and "Layin' Up With Linda" from the TPOS 7" of the same name. For what it's worth there's a (defunct?) webpage from the Swedish Scum record label which has a few extra interviews and some links to similar material - enjoy the search...
